Harrell, Sr. Funeral services for Osroe Riddick Harrell, Sr. will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m., at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Mahlon H. Elliott, pastor of Oxford Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Members of the John E. Martin Bible Class of Oxford Methodist Church and the Suffolk Volunteer Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers. An antique dealer and an outstanding cabinetmaker in the Tidewater area for the past 37 years, he died Tuesday at 3:25 p.m. at his home, 218 Pinner St., after a short illness. He was 55 years old. A native of Gates County, N.C., he was a son of Noah B. and Minnie Pinkham [sic; Tinkham] Harrell. He operated Harrell's Antique Shop. He was a life member of the Suffolk Volunteer Fire Dept. and had not missed a department monthly meeting in 22 years. He was also a player in the Suffolk Checker Club. He was a member of Oxford Methodist Church and of its John E. Martin Bible Class. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie Mae Bryant Harrell; a son, O. Riddick Harrell, Jr., of the home; three sisters, Mrs. John Horton and Mrs. Vernon Stewart of South Norfolk and Mrs. Orion Parker, of Eure, N.C.; three brothers, Levi Harrell of Eure, Raleigh Harrell, of South Norfolk and Franklin Harrell of Norfolk.
