Funeral services for Shirley W. Israel, Jr., small son of Mr. and Mrs. Shirley W. Israel, were held yesterday afternoon at the funeral home of I.O. Hill and Company, and was attended by many friends and relatives. Services were conducted at 3 o'clock by the Rev. H.J. Goodwin, and Dr. John G. Truitt. Mrs. J.G. Truitt and Mrs. M.F. Hall, accompanied by Mrs. C.R. Wallace, sang the selections "Sometime We'll Understand," and "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus." The casket was covered with a pall of rosebuds and lilies of the valley, and there were many floral tributes. Active pallbearers were Leon Jernigan, Rufus Lilly, Cecil Williams, and Raymond Hampton. The flowers were carried by Margaret Williams, Charmaine Holland, Mary Lee Rountree, Jennie Marie Carroll, Jeanette Harrell, Frances and Louise Ralph, Thelma McCLenny and Jacqueline Lilly. Burial was in Cedar Hill cemetery.
