Specials from Suffolk, Nansemond County, VA state that Mrs. Dempsey Jones and 
her sister, Mrs. Dosier, living nine miles from that place, were murdered 
yesterday and the house plundered, while Mr. Jones and his children were at 
Sunday-school. There is no clue to the murderers, and the citizens are hunting 
them."

Additional Comments:
These two ladies were in the 1870 U.S.

census at Cypress Chapel, Nansemond Co., VA. The head of household was Dempsey 
Jones, age 65, born VA.
