He was a native of Gates County and the husband of Mildred Nelms Jackson. Cobb was the son of the late Thomas Edward Jackson and Pearl Griggs Jackson. He was the owner and president of Princess Anne Farm Equipment Corp. in Chesapeake, and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church in Suffolk. He also was a member of the Chesapeake and Virginia Beach chambers of commerce and had been named Man of the Year in Agriculture in Virginia Beach for 1972. He was a past president of the Virginia State Farm Dealers Association and a member of the board of the Bank of Currituck. He was a graduate of Elon College and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Other survivors include two sisters, Ann J. Farless of Portsmouth and Delores J. Duplissey of Suffolk; and two brothers, Thomas E. Jackson Jr. of Portsmouth and G. Phil Jackson of Suffolk. The funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Bethlehem Christian Church, Suffolk, by Dr. Merle Correll and the Rev. Ray Wittman. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and at his home. ****************************************************************************** FRED C.
