All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ FRANK WILKINSON JONES Suffolk, Dec. 31 - Funeral services for Frank Wilkinson Jones, prominent young business man of this city, who died Friday morning at his home in Riverview, were held at the residence this afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Carl B. Craig, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. Dr. H.J. Goodwin, pastor of the First Baptist Church. There were many handsome floral designs, the casket being covered with a pall of American Beauty roses. Handsome designs were sent by the American Bank, the Suffolk Lodge of Elks, by a number of insurance companies which were represented by the deceased, as well as from individuals. A quartet from the First Baptist Church composed of Mrs. M.T. Johnson, Mrs. W.A. Hart, John K. Hines and J.T. Harrell, sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee," and "Peace, Perfect Peace." A solo, "No Burdens Yonder," was sung by J.K. Hines. The accompanist was Alton Howell. Active pallbearers were H.A. Jones, E.E. Jones, William B. Jones, Willard Andrews, G.W. Wales, John K. Hines, Henry Crocker, Graham Martin and Thomas Lilliston. Friends of the family acted as an honorary escort. Interment was made in Cedar Hill Cemetery. They are buried in the same lot. Frank's parents are also buried there. Son Frank Jr. was KIA 13 Jun 1944, and is marked in the same lot, but it is not clear if his remains were returned.
