JOHN WILLIE [sic; WILEY*] JONES SUCCUMBS TODAY 

Funeral Services to Be Held Tomorrow Afternoon 

  John Willie Jones, 63, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vernon 
Lassiter, of Nansemond county, near Suffolk, this morning at 12:05 o'clock, 
after a short illness. 

  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mollie L. Jones, three daughters, Mrs. 
Vernon Lassiter, of Suffolk, R.F.D., Mrs. D.D. Jones, of Fort Bonneville, 
N.C., Miss Cora Lee Jones of Suffolk, R.F.D., and four sons, Floyd Jones, 
and John Willie Jones Jr., both of Nansemond county, Thomas Jones and J. 
Jones of New Bern, N.C., fourteen grandchildren.  One brother, Henry Jones 
of Nansemond county, and several nieces and nephews. 

  Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the 
residence near Suffolk conducted by the Rev. R.E. Brittle.  Interment will 
be in the family cemetery, near Suffolk.
