JONES, MERCHANT OF HOLLAND, DIES Holland - James Thomas Jones, 77, retired Holland mercantile merchant, died Thursday at 5 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after illness of 11 days. He was born in Nansemond County, a son of James Rawles Jones and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Leach Jones. He was the husband of Mrs. Mary Edith Rawls Jones. He was a member of Holland Christian Church and its Men’s Bible Class and board of Deacons. He also was a charter member of Holland Ruritan Club. Besides his widow, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Rosier C. Bagley of Waterford, Va.; two sons, Thomas Rawles Jones and James R. Jones of Holland; and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Holland Christian Church Saturday at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. C. Carl Dollar, pastor with burial in Holland Cemetery. The funeral procession will leave I.O. Hill & Co.
