Jones Sr. SUFFOLK -- Riddick Marshall Jones Sr., 85, of 102½ S. Broad St., died Tuesday evening in his home. A native of Nansemond County, he was a son of Riddick and Mrs. Emily James Duke Jones and the husband of Mrs. Martha Rountree Jones. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church and its Men's Bible Class and charter member of Cypress Ruritan Club. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wesley Harrell of Suffolk; two sons, Riddick Marshall Jones Jr. of El Paso, Tex., and William Joseph Jones of Virginia Beach; a stepson, Ralph A. Amos of Manakin-Sabot, Va.; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. William N. Colton, Dr. R.E. Brittle and the Rev. W.A. Grissom. Burial will be in Cypress Chapel Church Cemetery.
