All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ RIDDICK JONES Prominent Nansemond Farmer Dies Riddick Jones, 81 years of age, a lifelong resident of Nansemond county and one of its most prominent farmers, died this morning at 6 o'clock at his home at Nurneyville after a brief illness. A peculiar coincident of Mr. Jones' death is that his wife preceded him to the grave by only four months tomorrow. The funeral will take place from Cypress Chapel Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and will be conducted by the pastor the Rev. R.E. Brittle, assisted by Dr. W.W. Staley and Dr. I.W. Johnson, of Suffolk. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Jones is survived by one son, Marshall Jones, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Jones, of Farmville; one sister, Mrs. R.E. Babb, of Holland, and a number of nieces and nephews.
