Jones, who died early Monday morning at her home on Bank Street, were conducted at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the residence with Dr. John G. Truitt, pastor of the Suffolk Christian Church, officiating. The pall was of pink carnations, pink talisman, and yellow roses, gardenias, corn flowers and baby's breath. Pallbearers were Harvard R. Birdsong, of Suffolk, Henry C. Field, of Portsmouth, Walter D. Shelly, of Jacksonville, Florida, Lt. Commander Horace P. McNeal, of Annapolis, Maryland, William J. Withers, of New York City, and H.N. Phillips, of Hardee, S.C. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Her parents, John Daughtrey Sr. & Sylvania Washington (SHEFFIELD) JONES, are buried in Traders Hill Cemetery, Folkston, Charlton Co., GA. Her father (1832 - 1880) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. D, 4th GA Cavalry. Her in-laws, William H. Sr. & Emma (COPELAND) JONES, are buried in Holy Neck Christian Church Cemetery; they also have a memorial window in the church.
