Jones Rites Held Sunday Funeral services for Thomas A. Jones, who died Friday, were conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. John C. Mitchell, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Jamer T. Nolen sang two solos, "Sleep in Jesus" and "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder." The casket was covered with a pall of red gladioli and white carnations. Pallbearers were R.D. Carter, Jack Mumford, Willard Branch, Tom Stephenson, Wilbur Powell, Marvin Williams, Sam A. Chilton, Jr., and Frank Ellis. Friends were honorary pallbearers. ****************************************************************************** THOMAS ANTLEY JONES SUFFOLK - Thomas Antley Jones, 76, a retired city employee, died Friday morning at the Obici Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He lived at 214 Holladay St. He was employed by the city for 25 years, retiring about 15 years ago. A member of the First Baptist church, he was the son of William Henry Jones and Mrs. Pattie March Jones of Nansemond. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Ethel Newsoms Jones; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Gillespie of Draper, N.C.; four sons, William S. Jones, John C. Jones and Clarence L. Jones, all of Suffolk, and J.T. Jones of Nansemond County; four sisters, Mrs. Stella Holland, Mrs. Thomas Davidson and Mrs. Crowder Davidson of Franklin and Mrs. E.C. French of Norfolk; four brothers, W.E. Jones, J.S. Jones, J.C. Jones and Paul C. Jones, all of Franklin; five half- sisters, Mrs. N.K. Sleeper of Tokoma Park, Md., Mrs. Al Korahaes of Norfolk, Mrs. Sam Theodorakis of Murfreesboro, N.C., Mrs. L.D. King of Orange City, Fla., and Mrs. N.M. Hawa of Franklin; one half-brother, Jim Jones of Franklin and 11 grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Sunday in Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. J.C.
