The services were largely attended, several relatives from Suffolk and from a distance being present. The deceased had been in feeble health for several years and his demise was not a surprise, death resulting from a general failure of the vital organs rather than any specific disease. He was 79 years old. Mr. Jones was possessed of a large estate and was well-known throughout this section, with whose best interests he has been identified for many years. He leaves eight children - Mrs. Susie Holland, relict of the late Charles E. Holland, of Suffolk; Mrs. Willis Lee and Mrs. Reps Williamson, of Lower Parish; an unmarried daughter, Ruth, 8 years old; Mr. W.H. Jones, Jr., cashier of the Farmers' Bank in Suffolk; Mr. R.E. Jones, of Winston, N.C.; Mr. Benjamin F. Jones, of Waycross, Ga.; Mr. Thomas Jones, of Norfolk.
