Jones, one of the best known and most highly respected citizens of Nansemond county, died at his home, at Cypress Chapel, last night about 9 o'clock, in the forty-eighth year of his age. Mr. Jones had been in poor health for some time, but the immediate cause of his death was pneumonia, with which he had been sick for only a few days. The deceased was born and spent the greater part of his life in the neighborhood in which he died. He was a son of Mrs. Dempsey Jones, whose murder by the negro Jim Brown on the first day of June, 1873, will be remembered by many of our readers. Mr. Jones married a daughter of Mr. William H.
