Johnson of South Quay, Nansemond County, died Thursday night at her home after an illness of many weeks. Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Richard M. and Estella Langston Everett, of Nansemond County. She was a consistent member of South Quay Baptist Church, serving actively until ill health prevented. She was one of the organizers of the Woman’s Missionary Society of South Quay. Surviving her are five daughters, Mrs. Edith Lee Kello of Courtland, Mrs. Joseph Scott of Franklin, Mrs. J. Vince Shortt of New Castle, Ind., Mrs. W.E. Wallace of Battle Creek, Mich. and Mrs. Walter W. Rangely of Franklin; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Annie H. Johnson and Mrs. T.E. Brickhouse, both of Norfolk, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock from the residence by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson, the Rev. L.D. Stables and Rev. L.F. Paulette. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas E., Joseph H. and Ernest P. Brickhouse, Lawrence Johnson, James T. Jones, William E. Norfleet, Richard H. Rawls, Sr. and J.O. Cutchins, Jr. Addie Martha (EVERETT; Mrs. Frank H.)
