R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Jenkins, 63, of 311 Pinner St., an employee of Benthall Machine Co. eight years, died Thursday in Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church and Rosewood Camp 2, Woodmen of the World. A native of Southampton* County, he was a son of John Thomas and Mrs. Iola Wills Jenkins. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Frances Lawrence Jenkins; a son, John Lee Jenkins of Chesapeake; a brother, John Jenkins of Windsor; and two sisters, Mrs. Bertie Cobb of Norfolk and Mrs. Otis Holland of Windsor. His D.Cert. (66-24090) also gives b. Southampton Co., but his Delayed B.Cert. (1957-11190) gives b. Isle of Wight Co., based on a Bible record & the affadavit of sister Annie Maie Johnson; however it gives their parents as m. 28 Jan 1896 - which is wrong. They m. 28 Jan 1897, in Southampton Co. (MB9:120). The m.rec. gives his father as b. in Southampton Co., but the b.Cert. gives Baltimore, MD, & the 1900 Census (Jerusalem, So.Co.) gives MD (parents also). Widowed, his mother 2m. 4 Dec 1912 widower William Reuben "Billy" JOHNSON, in Isle of Wight Co. She is buried in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.
