Mrs. Emma Johnson 

  Suffolk - Mrs. Emma Allen Fowler Johnson, 85, of 318 Caroline Ave. died 
Thursday at 6:30 a.m. in Lakeside Convalescent Home, Virginia Beach. 

  A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a member of First Baptist Church. 

  She was the widow of Bernard H. Johnson and a daughter of William and Mrs. 
Bettie Fowler. 

  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James Hall of Suffolk and Mrs. G. Dempsey 
Wilkins of Portsmouth; two sons, James Harrison Johnson of Franklin and 
Linwood R. (Kenny) Johnson of Suffolk; eight grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren. 

  A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral 
Home by the Rev. K. Donald Berg.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. 

  The family will be at the home of Mrs. James Hall of 318 Caroline Ave.

Emma FOWLER appears in the 1900 Census - Windsor Dist, Isle of Wight Co. - 
   as b. May 1879, step-daughter of Joseph & Mary E. JOHNSON {m. 1 year; 
   Mary had all 5 children surviving. 

Birthdate &c. from D.Cert. 71-001863, which also gives daughter of William 
   & Bettie FOWLER.
