JOHNSON Suffolk, Jan. 7 - Mrs. Ella M. Johnson, 76, widow of Woode E. Johnson, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.B. Harrell, at Reed’s Ferry, at 12:30 o’clock this morning after a long illness. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. H.D. Lawrence, of Portsmouth; Mrs. C.B. Harrell, of Reed’s Ferry; Mrs. E.P. Bradshaw, of Nansemond County, and Mrs. M.L. Bradshaw, of Suffolk; a half- brother, Hurley Johnson, of Suffolk; 14 grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Oakland Christian Church, by Dr. I.W. Johnson and Dr. J.G. Truitt. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Ella M. (ROSE; Mrs. E. Rose, 27, in the 1870 Census in Chuckatuck Dist., Nansemond Co. Elijah, 14, appears with his family on the same page (49; stamped 187). Her D.Cert. (1917 {Chuckatuck #1}) gives daughter of Lycurgus & Margaret Crocker Rose.
