William T. Johnson, were conducted this afternoon at the home on Chestnut Street, by the Rev. Dr. George Wesley Jones, pastor of Main Street Methodist Church. A quartet compound of Mrs. William S. Beamon, Miss Josephine Lawrence, A.B. Cramer and Marmaduke Woodward, accompanied by Mrs. Claudia Jacobs, sang "Abide With Me." There were many floral offerings. Members of the American Legion Auxiliary in which Mrs. Johnson held membership, attended in a body. Active pallbearers were M.A. Maxey, Harvey Ashburn, G.A. Harris, J.M. Lassiter, H.W. Churn, F.H. Hayes, W. Hatcher Eley, Judge James L. McLemore, Burwell Riddick, and R.H. Brinkley. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
