Johnson Funeral services for Eddie Lester Johnson, a former resident of Nansemond County who died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Patrick Henry Hospital, will he held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Holy Neck Christian Church. The church pastor, the Rev. Allen L. Hurdle, and the Rev. Edwin Thornton, pastor of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will take place in the Holland Cemetery. The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home where it will remain until Sunday at 12:30 o'clock at which time it will be taken to the Holy Neck Church to lie in state until the funeral hour. He was the son of the late James and Rebecca Warren Johnson, of Martin County, N.C., a member of the Holy Neck Christian Church and of the First Bible Class at that church. He had made his home for the past 21 years with his sister-in-law, Mrs. Shepherd Johnson, of near Holland. Others surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jenning Askey of Ahoskie, N.C. and Mrs. E.B. Knight of Winton, N.C.; two sons, Leon Johnson, of Washington, D.C., and Henry M. Johnson, of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. D.C. Cross of Oak City, N.C. and Mrs. Moses Robertson, of Hobgood, N.C.; a brother, Jim Johnson, of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
