ROBERT LAWRENCE JOHNSON

   Funeral services for Robert Lawrence Johnson were conducted from his 
residence in Norfolk at 2 o’clock on Thursday afternoon, February 7, interment 
being made in Elmwood Cemetery.

   The deceased was the son of R.J. and Virginia Frances Vaughan Johnson, and 
was born in South Quay community, Nansemond county in 1867.  In 1898 he 
married Miss Annie Everett of Nansemond County.  Mr. Johnson moved to Norfolk 
in 1902, where he was engaged in business until his retirement in 1932.

   Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Annie Everett Johnson, and six brothers; 
Joseph H., George T., Frank H., and Jesse V., all of Nansemond County; and 
Jeff D. Johnson of Isle of Wight County, and a number of nieces and nephews.
