WILLIE ALFRED JOHNSON

WOUNDS FATAL TO W.A. JOHNSON, 66. LOCAL MAN DIES AT 2:20 A.M.

   Suffolk, May 7, - Willie Alfred Johnson, 66 of 114 Linden Avenue, died at 
2:20 a.m. this morning at a local hospital for gunshot wounds, self-inflicted 
last Friday.

   He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Johnson; a daughter, Miss 
Mary Elizabeth Johnson; two sons, Herbert Lee Johnson, of Onancock, and William 
Stanley Johnson; of Suffolk; two grandchildren, Bobby Lee and Betty Lee Johnson, 
of Onancock; four sisters, Mrs. Gracie Carr and Miss Ray Johnson, of Petersburg; 
Mrs. Henry Brasely, of Richmond, and Mrs. James Holland, of Hopewell; three 
brothers, Arthur Johnson, of Roanoke; Elmore Johnson, of Petersburg, and Horace 
Johnson, of Suffolk; also several nieces and nephews.

   The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home were services will 
be conducted at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon by Dr. John G. Truitt, pastor of the 
Suffolk Christian Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block V, Lot 30*), Suffolk, 8 May 1945,

His parents, William H. & Hester E. (PROCISE) JOHNSON, and in-laws, Alexander 
   & "Berta" Robert S. (NUNNALLY) LEE, are buried in Blandford Cemetery, 
   Petersburg.
