ADDIE F. JOYNER Suffolk, Oct. 11. - Mrs. Addie F. Joyner, well-known resident of Nansemond County, died tonight at the age of 58 after a short illness. She was a daughter of the late John H. and Mrs. Celinda [sic*] Smith. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Harry Lee, J. Clinton and J. Smith Joyner, and three brothers, A.L. Smith, of Newport News, and E.R. and J.T. Smith, of Nansemond County, and two grandchildren, Harry Lee Joyner, Jr., and W.J. Joyner. Mrs. Joyner had been a member of Bethlehem Christian Church since she was 12 years old. Funeral services will be conducted there. The date and hour have not been announced. ****************************************************************************** MRS. W. J. JOYNER DIES IN COUNTY Prominent Nansemond Churchwoman Died Last Night At Age 58; Funeral At Bethlehem Church. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Addle F. Joyner, who died at her home in Nansemond county last night at 9:30 o'clock, at the age of 58, will be held at Bethlehem Christian Church, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. R.E. Brittle officiating, assisted by Dr. W.W. Staley and Dr. W.D. Howard. Mrs. Joyner was a faithful and consistent member of the church and was affiliated with all of the church organizations. Mrs. Joyner, the wife of Willie J. Joyner, was a woman of many fine traits of character. In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following children; Harry, Clifton, and Smith Joyner, all of the county; two grandchildren, Harry Lee and William Joyner; three brothers, E.R., and J.T. Smith, of the county, and A.L. Smith, of Newport News. Active pallbearers will be nephews of the deceased: Emmett Luke, Sylvester Smith, Courtney Smith, Wesley Copeland, Genie Luke, Harvey Smith, Richard Copeland and Claudie Luke. Honorary pallbearers: Captain Hines, Dr. W.C. Gigson, S.H. Babb, T.A. Barbee, E.R. Roberts, Richard Saunders, H.G. Taylor, Charlie Jordan, J.W. Folk, Edward Harris, Isaac Piland, T.U. Savage, Ernest Oliver, J.H. Boothe, H.C. Nelms, Sidney Powell, A.J. Powell, Frank Lummis, Jim Bryant, and all other friends of the family are asked to act as honorary pallbearers. Addie F.
