Joyner IVOR - Funeral services for Crawford B. Joyner, Sr., will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Horace E. Twine, pastor of Ivor Baptist Church. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Mr. Joyner, 31, died in the Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, after a long illness. He was a native of Isle of Wight County, the son of the late Luke [sic; Luther*] T. and Nettie Virginia Joyner. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and a member of the Central Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Uzzell Joyner; four daughters, Misses Elizabeth Merle Joyner, Josie Crawford Joyner, Gloria Jean Joyner and Linda Sue Joyner; two sons, Crawford B. Joyner Jr. and Harold Massey Joyner, all of Ivor; three brothers, Lonnie H. Joyner, of Windsor, George M Joyner of Suffolk and Noah T. Joyner of Ivor; one sister, Mrs Emma J. Berryman at Surry; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. ****************************************************************************** CRAWFORD BARRETT JOYNER Crawford Barrett Joyner, 51, of Ivor, retired Norfolk Naval Shipyard worker, died in Obici Hospital, Suffolk, on Thursday, May 15. A native of Isle of Wight County, the deceased was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Uzzell Joyner of Ivor and son of the late Luke [sic; Luther*] T. and Nettie Virginia Joyner. He was a member of Central Hill Baptist Church. Surviving, besides his wife, are four daughters, Elizabeth Merle, Gloria Jean, Josie Crawford and Linda Sue Joyner, all of Ivor; two sons, Crawford Barrett Joyner, Jr., and Harold Massey Joyner, also of Ivor; three grandchildren; three brothers, George M. Joyner of Suffolk, Lonnie H. Joyner of Windsor, and Noah T. Joyner of Ivor; one sister, Mrs. Emma J. Berryman of Surry; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Joyner were conducted at the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Revs. Horace E. Twine and J.P. Leitner. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, the pallbearers being J.T. Faircloth, Jr., B.F Felts, Marvis Felts, Peyton Kea, Ernest Pittman, E.V. Stephenson, Jr., Russell West and Fenton Worrell.
