Rites Held Today For Herbert January 

  Funeral services for Herbert Charles January were conducted today at 2:30 
p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home by Dr. Murray Kantor, rabbi of the Agudath 
Achim Synagogue.  Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, with rites by Suffolk 
Masonic Lodge No. 90. 

  Pallbearers were Harvard Birdsong, Al Ruden, Nathan Levy, Dr. Edward C. 
Joyner, G. Irving Coulbourn, Wallace Gwaltney, Sherman Howell and Frank 
Sheffer. 

  An organ solo, "Crossing The Bar," was given by Mrs. W.F. Whitley.  The pall 
was of red roses and gardenias.
