[...] On Sunday, June 3rd, I was called to Bethlehem, in the absence of the pastor, to conduct the funeral services of one of twin girls, the child of Willie Joyner near that church. The dear little babe was hardly six months old, but who can measure the love of parents for such little ones and who can tell the sweet history of their brief lives? Thus we bury the aged and the babe, for God has His own uses for all. W.W. STALEY. ****************************************************************************** "Christian Sun" (Elon College, NC), Vol. LIII, No. 29, Thurs., July 26, 1900, p. 4; image at: https://newspapers.digitalnc.org/lccn/sn93062839/1900-07-26/ed-1/seq-4/ Near Bethlehem Christian church, Nansemond Co., Va., June 2, 1900 Hilah Joyner, aged 5 months and 13 days. - July 4 Hilda Joyner, aged 6 months and 15 days; Hilah and Hilda were twin sisters. The sweet little babies of Bro. Willie J. and sister Addie Joyner. They were separated from each other only one month and two days. The good Lord knows what is best for us and our children, and if we love Him He will always do that for us, which will bring the greatest good to us and our children. "The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord." Bro. and Sister Joyner have the sympathy of their many friends, in this their sad bereavement. The funeral services were conducted at Bethlehem Christian church by Rev. W.W. Staley, D.D., and the writer, and their remains were placed side by side in the old church cemetery. The Lord bless and comfort the dear parents. H.H.B. Hilah JOYNER, daughter of "Willie" William James & Addie F.
