All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Joe Bob Joyner Dies in Hospital SUFFOLK, July 30 - Joe Bob Joyner, 65, of 261 Holladay Street, died at 4 a.m. today at a local hospital after a short illness. Joyner is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mae Joyner; four daughters, Mrs. K.E. Lester and Miss Nancy Joyner, of Rafael, Calif.; Mrs. Eugene Wilkins, Suffolk, and Mrs. G.O. Parker, of Portsmouth; one son, Willie C. Joyner, Hampton; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Effie Hargraves, Suffolk, and three brothers, W.C., Jesse and R.H. Joyner of Nansemond County. The body was taken to the Hill Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. tomorrow by Dr. John G. Truitt and Rev. Charles W. Jones. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Church Cemetery. His parents, Josiah JOYNER & Nancy Monroe (PRUDEN) JOYNER, are also buried there. Etta's obit appeared in the "Suffolk News-Herald," Aug. 28, 1945, p. 8. E (2d), 6th VA Infantry.
