All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mrs. Victoria Joyner Succumbs at Age 86 Mrs. Victoria Eugenia Joyner, 86, of Southampton County, died yesterday in a Williamsburg hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Walter Joyner, and daughter of the late George and Sallie Burgess, of Southampton County. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Divi Harrup and Mrs. Lila Bryant, both of Suffolk; three sons, Nimrod Joyner and Ned Joyner both of Suffolk, and Oliver Joyner, of Sedley; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Murphy, of Courtland; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company funeral home where services will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. by Dr. Julian H. Pentecost, pastor of West End Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
