Jamison’s Funeral Rites Thursday Funeral services for James Norman Jamison [sic], 54, who died yesterday at 7:20 p.m. at his home, 206 Brooke Avenue, will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The procession will leave the I.O. Hill and Co. Funeral Home for the cemetery at 3 p.m. A native of Dillwyn, he was a son of the late Lewis B. and Mrs. Cora Wood Jamison. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vasti Copeland Jamison; two step- daughters, Mrs. Betty Lois Uzzell and Mrs. Beulah Maie Oliver, both of Suffolk; one [step-]son, Fentress H. Chappell of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Nash of Farmville; step-mother, Mrs. Eva Jamison of Dillwyn. She (1892 - 1985) is buried with her first husband Samuel Clarence TITTLE (1891 - 1919) in Palestine Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hematite, Alleghany Co. There are 2 copies of their M.Cert. (1952 Suffolk #50). Cert. 11836 gives m. 10 May 1952 by Rev. R.E. BRITTLE. Cert. 8759 gives Copy - Original Not Returned. Both give the intended date as May 24, 1952. Both give James as b. in Brooklyn, NY. He 2m. Eva Dora DICKERSON 10 Nov 1941 in Wilmington, New Hanover Co., NC. Their M.Cert. (Wilmington #218) gives James as b. in Brooklyn, NY. She (1909 - 1951) is buried with her parents in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, in Edgecombe Co., NC. D.Cert. 29514 (Wilmington #586) gives it in Tarboro (Edgecombe Co.), but Find a Grave (Mem. #96187506 &c.) gives it at 615 Ebenezer Rd., Whitakers, Edgecombe Co. {though it's closer to Tarboro. Whitakers is divided between Nash & Edgecombe Co., NC. D.Cert. 6493 (Suffolk #17) gives his father as Louis Bossie JAMERSON, but it should read Lewis Bossieux. Side 1, registered 13 Mar, gives the manner of death as pending; Side 2, registered 2 Apr, gives determined as suicide.
