HARGROVES JORDAN PROMINENT WOMAN OF SUFFOLK YIELDS TO LONG ILLNESS Suffolk, Jan. 9. - Mrs. Sallie A. Jordan, wife of Walter Jordan, one of the prominent women of this community, died last night at her home in St. James avenue in the 61st year of her age, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Jordan was a native of Nansemond county and was the daughter of the late James and Emma Hargrove [sic; Hargroves], of Lower Parish. She is survived by her husband, Walter Jordan, one daughter, Mrs. Oma Parker, and one son, Haddon Jordan, and a grandchild, Anne Parker. Mrs. Jordan was a woman of rare qualities of character, and a gentlewoman of the old type, prominently connected with some of the leading families of the county. The funeral services will be held at the residence, 130 St. James avenue, on Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. G.T. Lumpkin, of the Baptist church, of which the deceased was a member, assisted by Rev. Dr. W.W. Staley, of the Christian church, and Rev. John F. Coleman, of St. Paul's P.E. church. Interment will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery. The pall bearers will be Roy Jones, Harry Jones, Denby Hargroves, Jack Hargroves, Wallace Kilby, Dr. F.J. Morrison, James Jordan, William Jordan, Arthur Jordan and Hardy Arthur. Sallie A.
