It is believed that the man was killed by falling from a train. There was a terrible wound on the right side of his head, evidently sustained by coming in contact with a rail when he fell. The man appears to have been about 21 years of age. He wore a blue coat and pants and black derby hat. The clothing on the body leads the police authorities to suspect that the man was a tramp. Justice Peel and a jury viewed the body and had it removed to the justice’s office to await identification if possible. An inquiry into the death of the unknown will be conducted tomorrow morning by Justice Peel. It is probable that the man was a house carpenter. He has a rule in his pocket and a small amount of money. His body has been removed to the undertaking establishment of C.R. Johnson to await identification. ****************************************************************************** LUTHER HUDSON KING LUTHER H. KING KILLED BY TRAIN Luther Hudson King, 24 years old, was run over and killed by an Atlantic Coast Line train at Pinners Point yesterday morning about 7 o’clock. He was the son of Abram T. and Elizabeth King, of Whaleyville, Va. He is survived by his parents and five brothers, four of whom live in this city. They are Adrian, Charles T., George W. and V.N. The body is now at the undertaking establishment of Snellings, King & Cooper and will be forwarded this afternoon via the Atlantic Coast Line to his former home for funeral and interment. It is stated that he came here several days ago to work for the Coast Line as a car inspector. He started to work yesterday morning and was killed within half a hour after going into the railroad yards. Just how he met death is unknown, but it is supposed he was struck by a train, or fell from one, as a wound on the side of the head indicates that he struck the end of a cross tie.
