Luke Funeral services tor Mrs. Daisy Stephens [sic; Stephenson] Luke, 67, who died yesterday at the home of her son Sherman Luke, near Myrtle, will be held at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. R.E. Brittle, the Rev. B.A. Riddle and the Rev. D. Hardison will offciate and burial will be in the Luke family cemetery near Myrtle. Mrs. Luke was the wife of the late Herbert Stanley Luke and a daughter of William John Stephenson, of Nansemond County. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. J.J. Carr, of Nasemond County; two sons, Sherman Luke, of Nansemond County and William Luke, of Whaleyville, two sisters, Mrs. Ballie Holland and Mrs. Jessie Warren, both of Windsor; two brothers, Jasper Stephens, of Richmond, and Sidney Stephens, of Windsor; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held Yesterday For Mrs. Daisy Luke Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Stephens Luke, who died Monday, were held yesterday afternoon at the Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. B.A. Riddle, pastor of Western Branch Baptist Church, the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church, and the Rev. D.M. Hardison, pastor of the Baptist Tabernacle, officiating. The pall was of red roses and white carnations. J.V. Fuquay, accompanied by Mrs. Webb Pinner, sang, "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." Burial was in the Luke Family Cemetery near Myrtle. Pallbearers were Richard Williams, James Carr, Edward Carr, Mills Pruden, Homer Jones, Norman White, Vernon White and Gavin Parker.
