Horton, 115 Madison Avenue, following a long illness. She was a native of Southampton County. Surviving are six other daughters, Mrs. Arthur Brown and Mrs. W.T. Carr, both of Windsor; Mrs. Ella Clothein and Mrs. Lillian Ridgely, both of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. W.H. Crocker of Zuni and Mrs. H.M. Green of Norfolk; and 12 grandchildren. The body was removed to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home, where funeral services were conducted Tuesday by the Rev. J. Lester Lane and the Rev. Charles W. Jones. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. She m. 1 Aug 1889 in Gatesville, Gates Co., NC. The M.Cert. gives daughter of the late James JOINER. The 1900 Census - Tanner's Creek Dist., Norfolk Co. - gives b. Mar 1875.
