MRS. JENNIE LIGGINS 

  Suffolk, July 19. - Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Liggins were conducted 
Saturday at 4 p.m., at the residence, 127 Morgan street, by the Rev. H.J. 
Goodwin.  There were many handsome floral designs.  Active pallbearers were 
A.F. Morgan, S.D. Richards, R.L. Howell, W.J. Morgan, John Byrd, C.H. Boothe, 
T.L. Spierse, J.G. Fanney.  Honorary were Eugene Pope, F.G. Lucas, J.T. 
Daughtrey, W.T. McKee, H.O. McClenny, J.M. Carter, W.G. Doughtie, J.A. 
Madison, Chrlie Ace, R.L. Holland.  Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

b. 7 Apr 1870, Gates Co., NC*, d. 15 Jul 1926, at home, Suffolk, 
interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block I, Lot 208*), Suffolk, 17 Jul 1926,

She shares a gravestone with her children Herbert Hunter LIGGINS & Elizabeth 
   (LIGGINS) SALMON and her sister Leonora "Lee" SMITH.  A photo of it -

   #232345466 &c.  It shows Jenny Lee LIGGON. 

D.Cert. 17268 gives b. Isle of Wight Co.; the informant was her son Herbert. 

Her father James "Jim" SMITH was a Federal veteran, having served in 
   Ahls Battery, DE Heavy Artillery.  He applied for a invalid pension 
   22 Oct 1880.  His widow Sophia A. (EURE) SMITH applied for a widow's 
   pension 14 Jun 1901 in NC. 

Her mother (1835-1918) is buried in Eure Christian Church Cemetery, Eure, 
   Gates Co., NC.
