Lewter Succumbs at 72 John William Lewter, 72, died this morning at 6:30 o'clock at his home in Nansemond County, near Box Elder, after an illness of five years. Besides his wife, Mrs. Mary Ellis Lewter, he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Hilton A. Morgan and Mrs. Henry Riddick of Holland, Mrs. Edward H. Harris and Mrs. Earl Barrett of Suffolk, Mrs. George B. Kegler of Bland, Virginia, and Mrs. Edward Gildersleeve of Charlottesville, Virginia; a son, James W. Lewter of Nansemond County; a sister, Miss Nora Lewter; one great grandson. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Baker Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Holland Cemetery.
