Lummis, died Saturday at 9:30 p.m. in her home at 102 ½ Brewer Ave. A native of Northumberland County, she lived here most of her life. She was a daughter of Horace L. and Mrs. Roberta Fitz-Hugh Ball. She was a member of West End Baptist Church, Suffolk Book Club and Suffolk Garden Club. She formerly taught in Nansemond County and Suffolk City schools. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. George E. Koenig of Arlington; a brother, Capt. Harry S. Ball of Norfolk; and six grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. C. Bailey Jones at West End Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
