(Special to The Times-Dispatch.) SUFFOLK, VA., April 10. - Menalchus [sic; Menalcus] Lankford died this morning at the home of his son-in-law, Colonel Luther R. Edwards, in Franklin, Va., aged eighty-three years. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Edwards, and two sons, Dr. L. Lankford and M.E. [sic; W.E.] Lankford, both of Norfolk. Menalcus LANKFORD, b. 17 Apr 1823, NC, d. 10 Apr 1905, at son-in-law's home, Franklin, interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block D, Lot 34*), Suffolk, "Times-Dispatch" (Richmond, VA), Vol. 1905, No. 16815, Apr. 11, 1905, p. 7 *Cedar Hill list, an extension of the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project: http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/nansemond/cemeteries/cedar_j.txt His son Rev.
