PATTIE SUE JONES LAWRENCE

   Mrs. Pattie Jones Lawrence, 77, widow of Hugh J. Lawrence of Nansemond 
County, died Friday afternoon, May 22, at the home of her brother, William A. 
Jones of South Quay.  She was the daughter of the late Rev. James E. and 
Eugenia Gardner Jones.

   Pallbearers were: Wayland Stephenson, Lawrence Jones, William Jones, 
Wayland Jones, Charles Rawls, George Watkins, Lawrence Holland and Percy 
Vaughan.

   She was a member of South Quay Baptist Church.

   Surviving are two brothers, William A. and P.A. Jones, and one sister, Mrs. 
Garrie Jones Rawls, all of the Franklin community and several nieces and 
nephews.

   Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the 
home of William A. Jones, with the Rev. W.B. Watson in charge.  Burial was in 
the family cemetery in Nansemond County.
