All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM ROBERT MOODY MOODY'S DEATH BLOW TO FATHER Body of Robert Moody Who Drowned Last Sunday in Venezuela, Will Probably Be Brought Back to Suffolk for Burial Condolences upon the receiving of word of the death of his son, William Robert, are being extended to his father, W.M. Moody, of Kingsboro Heights, who has received two telegrams in regard to the death by drowning of his son in Venezuela last Sunday. Young Moody's body will probably be brought to Suffolk for burial, it was learned today, although this will be decided when further information of the tragic event is received following the arrival of the Steamer Gulf Trade on which he was seeing service, in New York, today. Mr. Moody was 28 years old. It was said in the first telegram that Mr. Moody was dead and the cause thereof was drowning. It also told of the place. A second telegram was received later and said that Mr. Moody had been buried in Paraguana Cemetery last Thursday. For the last five years, Mr. Moody has been in the employ of the Gulf Refining Company and at the time of his death was on the Gulf Trade, which runs between New York and Venezuela. Besides his father, Mr. Moody is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Frank Veale of Norfolk; Mrs. Clyde Green, Misses Nellie and Alice Moody, the latter three of Suffolk; one brother, W. Mills Moody, Jr., of Suffolk.
