MATHIAS Clayton Lemuel Mathias of 408 Brook Ave. died at 9:15 a.m. Monday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. A native of Corapeake, N.C., he was a boiler tender at Obici hospital. He was a member of Eureka Baptist Church, Corapeake. He was a son of the late Lemuel and Mrs. Rosa Powell Mathias. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Madeline Branton Mathias; two sons, Robert Elliott Mathias of Portsmouth and Frank Lemuel Mathias of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. H.L. Jennings of Front Royal and Mrs. Florine Parks of Portsmouth; a brother, Louis Powell Mathias Sr. of Corapeake; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in I.O. Hill & Company Funeral Home by the Rev. James Davenport. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
