He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sharp Milburn, of Vernal, Utah. Milburn had been stricken this past summer with what hospital officials described as a broken blood vessel in his skull and, after spending several days under observation and treatment, was released. He was playing softball with the Blair Motor Company in the City Softball League at that time. Following the summer illness, however, he gave up softball and apparently was entirely recovered. In addition to his parents he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Edith Baines Milburn; a son, Joseph Christy Milburn, Jr.; a daughter, Mary-Jo Milburn, all of Suffolk; a sister, Mrs. Georgia Milburn Couteure, of Vernal, and a grandfather, George Freestone of Vernal. He was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church of Vernal and of the American Legion, Post 57. Serving in the armed forces for seven and a half years, he received his discharge two years ago and since that time has made his home in Suffolk, where he was employed in the Men's Department of Leggett's Department Store. The body was taken to the Baker Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
