MILTEER DIES IN COUNTY Funeral for Prominent Resident of Driver Section This Afternoon Funeral services for Mrs. Emna Riddick Milteer, 77, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. K.E. Brinkley, at Driver, Saturday night, was to be held at at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. O.C. Clarke and the Rev. Dr. I.W. Johnson were to conduct the rites. Active pall-bearers were Roy Jones, H.P. Harrell, E. Jordan Taylor, H.L. Deans, Cecil E. Rodgers, C.T. Everett, F. Bruce Eberwine and F.M. Warrington. Friends of the family were listed as honorary pall-bearers. Mrs. Milteer was a daughter of the late James and Mary Ann Parker Riddick, Nansemond county, and widow of Abram Milteer, of Bennett's Creek. She was a member of Beach Grove Methodist Church, of Driver, and was prominently connected by birth and marriage with several of Nansemond county's old families. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Brinkley, with whom she made her home; three sons, Walter R. Milteer and Willie E. Milteer, of Driver; and Harry D. Milteer, of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren: Mrs. W.N. Smith, of Danville; Misses Hazel and Rose Lee Milteer, Walter R. Milteer, Jr., and Randolph Milteer, of Driver; Mrs. George Whitley and W.E. Milteer, Jr., of Portsmouth; and a great-granddaughter, Joyce Smith, of Danville. ****************************************************************************** EMNA RIDDICK MILTEER Suffolk, March 8 - Funeral services for Mrs. Emna Riddick Milteer, widow of Abram Milteer, who died Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. K.E. Brinkley, near Driver, were conducted this afternoon at the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. O.C. Clarke and the Rev. I.W. Johnson, D.D. The casket was covered with a pall of Ascension lilies, lilies of the valley, pink roses and freezias. There were many other floral designs. Active pallbearers were Roy Jones, H.P. Harrell, E. Jordan Taylor, Horace L. Deans, Cecil E. Rodgers, C.T. Everett, F. Bruce Eberwine and F.M. Warrington. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers.
