Milteer Dies At Hobson Today Horace Gray Milteer, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Milteer, of Hobson, died at his home this morning at 1:50 a.m. He was 34 years old today. Surviving him are his mother and father, and many relatives in Nansemond county. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. ****************************************************************************** HORACE GRAY MILTEER Suffolk, Jan. 1 - Horace Gray Milteer, of Nansemond County, and son of Mr. and Mrs. John Milteer, died this morning at 1:50 o'clock on his thirty-fourth birthday, at the home of his parents near Hobson. He was the only child and besides his parents, is survived by a number of relatives in the county. Funeral services will be held at the Milteer home near Hobson Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be made in the family cemetery near Crittenden. ****************************************************************************** HORACE GRAY MILTEER Suffolk, Jan. 5 - Funeral services for Horace Gray Milteer, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Milteer, were held Sunday afternoon at the Milteer home near Hobson, by the Rev. Mr. Holman. Hymns were sung by a church choir. Active pallbearers were G.T. Wilkerson, Simon Martin, Henry Clay Mayo, Arthur Mayo, Wilmer Savage and Cornell Williams. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. Burial was in the family cemetery. No Find a Grave Memorial The family appears in the 1930 Census - Chuckatuck, Nansemond Co. - on County Road #8, on Farm #26. D.Cert. 1627 (Chuckatuck #1) He was the son of John A. & "Zoulie" Zoulia Ann (GRAY) MILTEER. His father d. a week after Horace. "Maggie" Margaret Edith KEELING, daughter of William Braithwaite & Cora Anne (SMITH) KEELING, 5 Apr 1923 in Suffolk (Nansemond Co. #65); they div. after 12 Apr 1930. Maggie was b. 14 Aug 1904 in Norfolk Co. (Delayed B.Cert. '44 7218; not certified by BVS) She 2m Raleigh Aubrey BLALOCK (1901 - 1962). Raleigh is buried in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth.
