Milteer, who died at his home near Hobson yesterday afternoon, will be held tomorrow at 2 o'clock at the home. Rev. Mr. Holloman will officiate. Burial will be at the family burial ground near Crittenden. Mr. Milteer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zoulie Gray Milteer, a grandson and nieces and nephews. ****************************************************************************** JOHN A. MILTEER Suffolk, Jan. 9 - Funeral services for John A. Milteer, who died at his home near Hobson Friday, aged 68, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Mr. Holoman. No Find a Grave Memorial The family appears in the 1930 Census - Chuckatuck, Nansemond Co. - on County Road #8, on Farm #26. D.Cert. 1628 (Chuckatuck #2) He m. Zoulia Ann GRAY, daughter of Horace L. & Sue GRAY, 28 Sep 1893 in Nansemond Co. (#131) He was the son of John Simmons MILTEER (1827 - 1882) & his second wife Mary Ann Elizabeth (PARKER) MILTEER (1832 - 1907). His father had been Postmaster of Kingsville, Nansemond Co., 1857-58. He was a Confederate soldier, enlisting as 4th sergeant in Co. G, 5th VA Cavalry June 4, 1861 at Suffolk. He was reduced to a private May 25, 1862, and the next month the unit was dissolved & its men transferred to Co. I, 13th VA Cavalry. His mother & his brother Frank (1870 - 1903) are buried in Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, Chuckatuck.
