Mrs. Manning, 75, Succumbs 

  Suffolk - Mrs. Ruth Costen Manning, 75, wife of Charles M. Manning, died at 
2:30 AM September 17th at her home in Suffolk. 

  She was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Costen and Lucy Brown Costen of 
Sunbury, NC.  In addition to her husband she is survived by three daughters, 
Mrs. Herbert Rountree.of Sunbury, N.C., Mrs. Jack Wells of Suffolk, and [Mrs. 
Preston W. Moran of Washing]ton; three sons; Thomas C Manning of Morgarts 
Beach; Charles C. Manning of Norfolk, and Geo. Brooks Manning, US Army, nine 
grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Lulu Edwards of Edenton, N.C., and several 
nieces and nephews. 

  The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home and the funeral 
procession left Wednesday for the Oxford Methodist Church where services were 
held at 5 PM by Rev. F.L. Baker.  Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
