The rites were conducted at the Hill funeral home here by the Rev. I.W. Johnson, D.D., and the Rev. C.C. Clark. Burial in Cedar Hill cemetery. Mr. Moore, long prominent in Nansemond county, was a son of the late John and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Moore. He was a large-scale farmer. He had been ill three weeks. Surviving Mr. Moore are his widow, Mrs. Lucy Moore; five daughters, Mrs. R.W. Winner, of Suffolk; Mrs. H.G. Bradshaw, of Magnolia; Mrs. Wilbur Harris, of Portsmouth; Mrs. Leon Heffington, of Newport News; and Miss Jessie Moore, of Bennett's Creek; four sons, Clarence Moore, of Magnolia; Ocie and Wesley Moore, of Suffolk; and Staley Moore, of Bennett's Creek; a sister, Mrs. J.W. Duck, of Lynchburg, and 11 grandchildren. The body was brought to Suffolk yesterday and rested at the Hill funeral home on West Washington street until the final rites this afternoon. ****************************************************************************** ARTHUR COTTON MOORE Suffolk, Feb. 22 - Funeral services for Arthur C. Moore, of Bennett Creek, were conducted this afternoon at the funeral home of I.O. Hill & co. by Dr. I.W. Johnson, the Rev. C.C. Clarke and the Rev. R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. A male quartet composed of R.L. Baker, W.T. Tuttle, H.H. Harcum and J.E. Savage, accompanied by Mrs. I.W. Johnson, sang the hymns, "Blessed Assurance" and "Face to Face"; H.L. Baker sang a solo, "Lay My Head Beneath a Rose." A pall of lilies and roses covered the casket. Active pallbearers were E.K. Brinkley, W.R. Milteer, Bruce Eberwine, G.S. Philhomer, D.T. Gardner, J. Frank Culpeper and W.E. Milteer. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers.
