Moore, for many years a member of the Nansemond County Board of Supervisors, died this morning at her home at Chuckatuck, after a brief illness. She had been ailing for several days, but was apparently better. Her daughter, who had been to her mother’s room at 5 o’clock this morning and had found her asleep, was shocked to find on her return to the room half an hour later to find Mrs. Moore had died in her sleep. Besides her husband she is survived by five daughters and two sons, Mrs. Asa Johnson of Chuckatuck; Mrs. Creston Evans of Plastico, Va.; Misses Polly, Matsie and Addie Rawles Moore of Chuckatuck; Alexander and William C. Moore, Jr., of Chuckatuck; one grandson, Asa Johnson, Jr.; four sisters, Mrs. V.R. Turner, of Lynchburg; Mrs. E.M. Gee, Keysville; Mrs. A.S. McLaren of Niagara Falls, Canada; Mrs. R.A. Johnson, of Henderson, N.C.; and one brother, J.A. Ligon of Clarksville, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakland Christian Church, in which Mrs. Moore held membership, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock, by the pastor, Dr. I.W. Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Florence (LIGON; Mrs. William C.)
