All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Attack Fatal To James Moore, 55 James Clarence Moore, 55, of 109 North Broad Street, died suddenly of a heart attack last night while attending a Travelers Protective Association dinner at Planters Club. He had been in failing health for the past five years. He was the son of the late Georgia Bryant and James Wills Moore of Suffolk. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eunice Bell Moore; a daughter, Miss Anna Godwin Moore; two sons, James Clarence Moore, Jr., and Robert Bell Moore, all of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Pope of Suffolk and Mrs. Joseph Holland of Staunton; two aunts, Mrs. J.D. Riddick of Como, N.C., and Mrs. Perry Moore of Norfolk. The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home where it will remain until 3:45 o'clock Friday. At this time the funeral will leave for the West End Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock with the Rev. Thomas W. Fryer, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Elks to Attend Moore Funeral Members of Suffolk Lodge, No. 685, Benevelent and Protective Order of Elks, are requested to meet Friday at 3:30 o'clock at the Hill Funeral Home to attend funeral services for James Clarence Moore, set for 4 p.m. at the West End Baptist Church.
