Ames, Jr., is very ill at his home, in Lower Parish. His demise is looked for daily. ****************************************************************************** _______ Death Claims a Lady and a Gentleman Who Were Held in High Esteem [...] _______ Suffolk, Va., May 1. [sic; 21.] - (Special.) - [...] VENERABLE CITIZEN'S DEATH. - Mr. Josiah D. Miars, whose illness had been mentioned in the Virginian, died last night at his home, in Lower Parish; aged seventy-five years. Deceased was the father of Mrs. John W. Ames, Jr., of Suffolk, and Miss Alice B. Miars and Mr. W.T. Miars, of the county. Mr. Miars is spoken of by friends as one of the kindest and most hospitable of neighbors. His funeral took place this afternoon. The interment was in Norfolk.
