NELMS Suffolk, Nov. 24. - Joseph M. Nelms, aged 77 years, well-known resident of Nansemond County, died this afternoon at 2:45 o'clock at the home of his son, H. C. Nelms, near Myrtle, after an illness of several weeks. He is survived by three sons, R. Wesley Nelms, of Nansemond County; Charles N. Nelms of oNrfok (sic), and H. C. Nelms, of Nansemond county; four daughters, Mrs. R. H. Joyner and Mrs. J. B. Joyner, of Nansemond County; Mrs. R. C. Luke, of Newport News, and Mrs. W. F. Anglin, of Baltimore; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. R. E. Brittle, Dr. I. W. Johnson and Dr. W. D. Harward, of Windsor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers wil lbe (sic) B. C. Eley, Jack Williams, Leonard Williams, W. T. Wright, R. A. Wright, N. T. Gray, W. J. Joyner and Richie Saunders. Frieds (sic) of the family will act as honorary pallbearers.
