Mrs. Sarah J. Nelson Dies In York St. Home 

  Mrs. Sarah J. Nelson, wife of the late H.H. [sic; H.N.] Nelson, died at her 
home 309 York street, this morning at 5:55 o'clock, after a brief illness, 
aged 66 years. 

  She is survived by six daughters and two sons, Miss Cora Nelson, Mrs. J.W. 
Draper, Mrs. G.E. Davis, Mrs. C.T. Babb, all of Suffolk, Va., Mrs. John Ellis 
of Sunbury, N.C., Mrs. B.B. Babb of Suffolk, W.W. Nelson and C.T. Nelson of 
Suffolk, also 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. L.E. Sumner of Pendleton, 
N.C., and Mrs. W.B. Smith of Portsmouth; one brother, J.H. Britton of Newport 
News. 

  She was a prominent member of the First Baptist Church, and quite active in 
church work. 

  The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the 
residence conducted by Rev. H.J. Goodwin, assisted by Dr. W.W. Staley. 
Interment will be in Cedar Hill cemetery.

   BRITTON, 21 Dec 1876 in Northampton Co., NC. 

Her parents are buried in a BRITTON family cemetery in Hertford Co., NC.
